The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest of a Southern California man on multiple counts of sexual assault and burglary during the final day of Burning Man 2025, according to the Reno Gazette Journal.

Sheriff Jerry Allen said that 34-year-old Alessandro Boshant was taken into custody on September 1st after a woman reported being sexually assaulted. She gave a detailed description of the suspect, leading officers to locate him in Black Rock City. Boshant faces four counts of sexual assault and rape, along with one count of burglary. His bail was set at $640,000.

Allen has previously noted the difficulties of investigating sexual assault at Burning Man, where attendees arrive from around the world, often in costumes and known only by playa nicknames.

The sheriff’s office is also investigating a separate incident following the death of a man found in a pool of blood on August 30.
