Carl Cox has teamed up with Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell on a new single titled ‘Joya’. The track is out now via Cox’s own imprint, Awesome Soundwave.
Merging two distinct musical worlds, ‘Joya’ pairs Cox’s club-driven production with Farrell’s unmistakable vocals and narrative style. Best known for his work with Jane’s Addiction, Porno for Pyros, and as the founder of Lollapalooza, Farrell brings a rock-rooted presence to this peak-time cut.
“When the opportunity came to work with Perry, I jumped at it and sent him the idea for ‘Joya’,” said Cox. “It just came together so beautifully and I have been proud to play it as the closer for all of my sets in the last year. People respond to it with such joy, and that is what I was aiming for all along.” Farrell added: “It means the world to me that we’re making people so happy with our music… Joyaaaaaah!”
