Carlita is a Turkish DJ and producer from Istanbul. A classical musician and multi-instrumentalist (drums, cello, bass, and electric guitar), she experiments with a mix of live and electronic instruments in her productions, using different synths and samples from her different instruments and field recordings from her travels. With early influences ranging from Turkish Psychedelia to Rock ’n’ Roll, she combines an ever-changing kaleidoscope of sounds and cultures into a driving electronic beat. Her diverse musical background ensures her sets are always full of surprises, as she expertly crafts a musical journey with each performance and develops her signature eclectic, worldly sound.
Now, with the summer in full blast, Carlita celebrates the release of her latest EP ‘The Way You Say’ via Higher Ground by sharing her 10 favorite tracks to get you groovin’ this summer.
1. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs – A Dream I Have (Damian Lazarus Re-Shape Remix)
‘I’ve always been a big admirer of Damian Lazarus. I played this in most of my club sets this summer.‘

‘Amazing track which I like playing towards the end of my sets. This is sure to be one of the biggest tracks of the summer.’
3. Jorge Ben Jor – Taj Mahal
‘I played this one unexpectedly at Fusion Festival and got an amazing reaction from the crowd. It’s a nice downtempo tune.’
4. Marsh feat. Sun Ra – Another Planet
‘It’s a good beginning or sunrise tune. It’s emotional and takes you away to another place.’
5. youANDme – “PPPPP” (2022 Diva Mix)
‘I’ve been playing this a lot in the middle of my sets lately and the vocals always get the crowd going.’
6. Italobros – Club Sound (Extended Mix)
‘Good, nice, grooving minimal to begin sets with.’
7. Traumer – Gunna Get
‘Love this edit. It has awesome percussions whilst still staying true to the original, which I love.’
8. Miss Kittin & The Hacker – The Beach
‘My new favorite ending tune, especially for summer outdoor parties near the beach.’
9. Maz, Luedji Luna – Banho de Folhas (Maz Remix)
‘I am a big fan of world music and putting some world music on my sets. This is perfect example of the tunes I’m putting towards the end of the gigs, with its uplifting, happy vibes.’
10. Ahmed Spins feat Stevo Atambire – Anchor Point
‘This track is produced by a good friend of mine who is from Morocco. He sent me the first version he ever made and I have been playing this track for a while. It’s definitely a summer hit.’
