Renowned DJ, producer, and Crobar resident Teri Bristol, whose real name was Teresa K. Bristol, has passed away at the age of 66 after battling kidney failure.
Her family confirmed her peaceful departure shortly before midnight on Monday, September 27th, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. In a heartfelt statement shared on Facebook, her family described the artist as a gift and expressed gratitude for the love, prayers, blessings, well wishes, and support that surrounded her during her final moments.
Teri Bristol played a vital role in promoting female talent in Chicago’s early house music scene. She collaborated with Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy, leaving a lasting impact on the local dance music community.
As a producer, Teri Bristol released records and mixes through labels like Strictly Rhythm and Master Dance Tones in the ’80s and ’90s. She regularly performed at Chicago clubs like Crobar, Medusa, and Smartbar, often with Pyshcobitch.
Teri Bristol also worked under various aliases, collaborating with Mark Picchiotti from Blueplate Records. She contributed under names like Nightman and Raving Lunatics and was part of a trio with Pyshcobitch called Pood, Bhud, ‘N’ Pflug.
