Classic Music Company marks 30 years with a coffee table book, a three-part vinyl retrospective, and a special event in London on December 5th, 2025. Lineup details remain under wraps, while both the book and vinyl are set for release in late October.
Founded by Luke Solomon and Derrick Carter, the London-based imprint has been a key fixture in house music for three decades. It’s new coffee table book, compiled by longtime in-house designer David Windmill, documents the label’s artwork, design history, and discography. Described as “an oral history” of the label, it includes contributions from journalist Claire Hughes, a foreword by Honey Dijon, and an afterword by Solomon himself.
Coinciding with the book, Classic Music Company will release a three-part vinyl series featuring selections from its extensive catalog. The collection spans foundational artists such as Rob Mełło, Roy Davis Jr., Chez Damier, and Pepe Bradock, alongside newer contributors like Folamour, Alinka, and Floorplan. Tracks by Matthew Herbert, Blaze, Isolée, Gemini, and Honey Dijon also appear across the box set.
“Classic means family to me – it’s a collective of like-minded sonic travellers that aren’t willing to conform to mainstream thought,” said Solomon. “I’m not one for big celebratory moments, but 30 years felt like a significant milestone… The vinyl series to accompany provides a soundtrack for this trip down memory lane.”
