ÄTNA, the innovative duo from Dresden, is back with their latest single ‘Number One,’ a synth-driven piece that showcases their evolving artistic vision. This new release serves as a preview of their upcoming album, set to drop this autumn, which delves into pressing global issues such as climate change, deforestation, and global warming.

The track features lush, ethereal synths that create a captivating soundscape. ÄTNA describes the track as a reflection on life’s cyclical nature, stating, “’Number One’ is our meditation on the natural circle of things. In most areas of life we experience ongoing loops of opposite things like death and birth, ebb and flow or yin and yang!”

Often mistaken for part of Berlin’s underground music scene, Inéz and Demian, the duo behind ÄTNA, remain firmly rooted in Dresden, where their musical journey began. This geographical distance from Germany’s major music hubs may be the secret ingredient that has allowed them to cultivate their distinct sound and identity.

Their previous albums, ‘Made By Desire’ and ‘Push Life,’ marked a departure from conventional German pop, offering instead a sophisticated, artful blend of sounds.
