This weekend Toronto is once again the place to be when it comes to experiencing the finest in artistic talent in the area of film and music. With the closing out of TIFF -Toronto Film Festival- and a plethora of music events to attend, the city will be alive with amazing entertainment.
Sydney Blu, Toronto’s DJ darling, and leading lady behind the decks is set to give us an infectious dose of her electro-tinged, dirty tribal house sound, this coming Friday, September 16th, at Coda. Always showing a constant determination that has broken down barriers, Sydney has held residencies at Mansion Miami, PACHA NYC, Space Miami, and Avalon Los Angeles, establishing a true global presence in the underground community.
And if that’s not enough house music for you, Maison Mercer continues the TIFF festivities on Friday, September 16th with French deep and melodic house producer Klingande. Breathing new life into the electronic music world with his impeccable productions and uplifting sound, cementing his reputation as one of the most refreshing and original producers around today, Klingande is a welcome departure from the big room house sound that has been dominating the scene of late, Klingande’s sublime melodies have earned him recognition from industry heavyweights Kygo, Bakermat, Robin Schulz and Klangkarussel to name just a few.
Ending the weekend on a high note, will see the one and only “S-Man” Roger Sanchez closing out the TIFF two week stint with a gig at Maison Mercer Saturday, September 17th. From humble beginnings in New York, and the city’s most influential figures in underground house music, Roger has held multi-year residencies in Ibiza and has headlined festival main stages all over the world.
He upholds the true mark of a self-made man, and dance music success. With a music repertoire that spans the genres Roger has used his decades of experience to build enticing remixes for a wide range of artists such as Michael Jackson, The Police, Diana Ross, Jamiroquai, and Maroon 5. A true talent, the “S-Man” is sure to keep you on the dance floor all night long.
