The organizers are recruiting emerging artists to represent the movement.
Coachella, one of the biggest festivals in the world, has teamed up with entertainment and music event organization Goldenvoice to create merchandise that is inclusive of the black experience.
Goldenvoice has been dedicated to bringing live music since it was founded back in 1981, and under the parenting of AEG, has put the spotlight on artists from all walks of life. More recently, sparked by the Black Lives Matter movement, the brand brought together a fellowship of the company’s black minds to create and represent Goldenvoice BLACK, which has cherrypicked 4 emerging California-based artists to create the merchandise.
‘We commit to continuously evolve as a festival that not only speaks on equity, justice, and actively anti-racist change, but acts on it. Our initiatives are a starting point; not meant to be static but to expand and evolve to best suit our community’, can be read on the organization’s webpage.
