Coldplay is set to release ‘A Film For the Future,’ a 44-minute visual piece that unites 150 artists from 45 countries in a groundbreaking collaboration. Premiering January 22nd, 2025 the film serves as a visual companion to their album ‘Moon Music.’
The premiere will feature immersive 360-degree screenings at Lightroom venues in London, Manchester, and Seoul. The film will be projected across four walls and the floor on massive 36-foot screens. ‘A Film For the Future’ will also be available worldwide on Coldplay’s YouTube channel.
The project began in summer 2024, when artists worldwide received audio clips from ‘Moon Music.’ Each artist independently created their visual interpretation, resulting in a diverse collection of artistic expressions. Executive producer Ben Mor, known for his work on the ‘Hymn For the Weekend’ video, describes the result as “a kaleidoscopic patchwork quilt—a 44-minute multimedia tapestry.”
Microsoft has partnered with the band to create an AI-powered remix experience. Using Microsoft Copilot and Azure AI, fans can create personalized versions of the film, making each viewing unique.
Coldplay had teased this project since 2019, hiding ‘FFTF2024’ in their ‘Everyday Life’ album artwork. The band thanked the contributing artists, saying, “They’ve created something very beautiful and we’re extremely proud of it.”
