A new online resource is making it easier to discover independent community radio stations around the world. Community Radio Index, maintained by Opium Hum and Robbie Makes Radio, is an interactive map and directory that allows users to browse stations by location, with each listing linking directly to the broadcaster’s website.

According to its creators, the project is the first centralized effort to document the majority of the world’s operating online community radio stations in a single resource. They describe community radio as a vital space connecting culture and grassroots activism at a time when algorithm-driven platforms increasingly shape how audiences discover music and media.

At the time of writing, Community Radio Index features 297 stations, including NTS, The Lot Radio, Intergalactic FM, DUBLAB, Oroko Radio, Echobox, Gasoline Radio, and Mutant Radio.
