Even though it has been five years since Daft Punk officially hung up their helmets, the legendary French duo continues to revisit their storied archives. To mark the fifth anniversary of their 2021 split, they have unveiled a new music video for ‘Human After All,’ which you can watch below.
The new visual, edited by long-time collaborator Cédric Hervet, breathes new life into footage from the pair’s 2006 cult sci-fi film, ‘Electroma.’ The video follows Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo as they pilot a vintage Ferrari through a stark desert before entering a seemingly peaceful town. However, the tranquility takes an eerie turn as they realize every single resident is wearing a robotic helmet.
While the duo remains officially disbanded, the Daft Punk brand stays remarkably active through a series of high-profile milestones, ranging from the “French Touch” genre’s recent induction into the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list—a move supported by President Emmanuel Macron—to a major Fortnite collaboration last autumn.
This momentum is further fueled by Thomas Bangalter’s surprise return to the decks for his first DJ set in 16 years at Paris’s Centre Pompidou. The pair’s cultural reach even extended to the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics, where the French Ice Dance team performed a striking routine to a medley of Daft Punk and Eiffel 65 tracks.
