Thomas Bangalter, co-founder of Daft Punk, recently unveiled his latest work, ‘CHIROPTERA’. This composition provided the soundtrack for a performance at the renowned Paris Opera House on November 12th, 2023. The event was a collaboration between artist JR and choreographer Damien Jalet, showcasing an ensemble of 154 dancers.

‘CHIROPTERA’ is now available on various digital platforms through Bangalter’s own label, Alberts & Gothmaan. Vinyl enthusiasts can expect a special edition release scheduled for August 30th, 2024.

‘CHIROPTERA’ is part of Bangalter’s larger composition for the performance. The entire 5-hour 50-minute project, ‘CHIROPTERA MATIERE PREMIERE’, is also now available. It’s on all streaming platforms and as a limited 10xLP vinyl record box set, exclusively at Galerie Perrotin and the Atelier JR webshop.

In celebration of the double release, Bangalter is unveiling Aletheia 19, a sound installation from his ‘CHIROPTERA’ work, featuring nineteen unsynchronized monophonic microgrooves on vinyl. It’s part of Dans La Lumiere, JR’s fourth exhibition at Galerie Perrotin in Paris, which draws inspiration from ‘CHIROPTERA’. Aletheia 19 will be on display at Espace Saint-Claude from June 7th-15th.
