A Music Radar study reveals that daily music releases in 2024 now surpass the entire output of 1989, highlighting a dramatic shift in music creation over three decades.

The study also illuminates the rapid growth of the music creator community. Business analyst MiDIA reports a 12% increase in music creators between 2021 and 2022, with the global count reaching 75.9 million. Even more striking is MiDIA’s projection that by 2030, this number will more than double to 198.2 million.

To contextualize these figures, Luminate, a music data analysis firm, reported that as of 2023, approximately 120,000 new tracks are uploaded to streaming platforms daily—a significant jump from the previous year’s 93,400 daily uploads.
