Damian Lazarus has revealed that a fire destroyed Tuscany’s Monastic Studios after lightning struck the building.
In a statement shared on Instagram, the British DJ and producer said the lightning bolt started a chain of events that caused the entire room to go up in smoke. Fire-resistant soundproofing helped preserve the building’s frame, while the lack of oxygen inside eventually brought the blaze to an end.
Despite the loss, Lazarus confirmed that the project files for his forthcoming single were saved and that its release will go ahead this year as planned.
“RIP Monastic Studios, we made some magic together that will forever be remembered,” he wrote.
