Legendary British DJ and producer Darren Emerson has unveiled his latest mix, EG.996, now streaming on EG’s SoundCloud and Mixcloud platforms. This release marks another milestone in the countdown to EG’s 1000th episode, showcasing the artist’s enduring influence in the electronic music scene.
“Here’s a special mix I put together for Electronic Groove as part of their countdown to EG1K,” Emerson shares. “The mix is a blend of past, present, and future—just good music.”
With a career spanning over three decades, Darren Emerson has been a pivotal figure in shaping electronic music. Born in 1971 in Essex, England, Emerson first made waves as a member of the groundbreaking electronic group Underworld. His contributions to albums like ‘dubnobasswithmyheadman’ and ‘Beaucoup Fish’ helped define the sound of 90s electronica.
Emerson’s solo career, launched in 2000, has been equally impressive. He’s garnered acclaim for his Global Underground mix series and UNDERWATER label compilations. His versatility shines through collaborations with projects like The White Lamp and 3D, demonstrating his ability to evolve with the ever-changing electronic music landscape.
