David Lynch memorabilia auction raises US$4.25 million

Scripts, instruments, and personal items from the late director were sold in California.

An auction featuring over 450 personal belongings of the late David Lynch raised US$4.25 million last Wednesday, June 18th, in Gardena, California.

Among the most notable sales was the script for Lynch’s unmade film ‘Ronnie Rocket’, which fetched US$195,000. A copy of the ‘Mulholland Drive’ production script went for US$104,000, while the pilot episode script for ‘Twin Peaks’ was sold for US$91,000. The director’s chair also brought in US$70,000.

Additional items included Lynch’s custom-built guitar, which sold for US$39,000, and a red curtain paired with a black-and-white zigzag rug in the style of Twin Peaks’ Black Lodge, which went for US$32,500.
