Deep Dish have joined forces with Nicole Moudaber for a new version of ‘Love Someone Else’, featuring Skunk Anansie. The release is out now on Factory 93 Records.
Originally released in 2016 on MOOD Records, Moudaber’s revision of ‘Love Someone Else’ marked a defining moment in her catalog following her collaboration with Skunk Anansie frontwoman Skin on the ‘Breed’ EP. Rather than approaching the track as a conventional remix, she reimagined the original through a club-focused lens, reshaping its emotional core for underground dancefloors.
Now, nearly a decade later, Deep Dish revisit the record after requesting to license it again. Instead of simply reissuing the track, Moudaber returned to the project with a contemporary perspective, refining and reshaping it for today’s context while maintaining its original spirit.
Reflecting on the journey, Nicole Moudaber said: “Skin and I first connected completely by chance on a flight, and that meeting led to our initial work together on the ‘Breed’ EP. ‘Love Someone Else’ came afterwards, as my own interpretation of her original track. It was always about instinct and emotion rather than genre. When Deep Dish reached out all these years later, it felt natural to return to it again, to add a new touch and a new dimension.”
The resulting Deep Dish rework blends their melodic house sensibility with Moudaber’s driving approach, giving Skin’s vocal renewed presence while preserving the emotional weight of the original collaboration.
