Depeche Mode have announced their plans for a new full-length documentary, ‘M,’ which captures their performances in Mexico City. Directed by Fernando Frias, the film draws from footage recorded during the band’s three sold-out shows at Foro Sol in March 2023, part of their ‘Memento Mori’ World Tour.
The movie will offer an intimate look at the group’s connection with their Mexican fans, “exploring the parallels between the themes on ‘Memento Mori” and the deep connection to death and mortality in Mexican cultures.”
The project, produced by Live Nation and WME, blends live performance clips with behind-the-scenes moments, highlighting Depeche Mode’s enduring influence. Dave Gahan and Martin Gore shared their excitement, noting Mexico City’s special place in their history due to the passionate crowds. The film also marks a milestone, celebrating the band’s return to the city since their last shows there in 2017.
‘M’ is set to hit theaters in spring 2025, distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment. Further details, including exact release dates and additional screenings, will be shared soon.
