Depeche Mode has released ‘Memento Mori: Mexico City’, a live album and visual project capturing their sold-out 2023 shows at Foro Sol Stadium. The release is now available via Columbia Records in CD, vinyl, cassette, and digital formats.
‘Memento Mori: Mexico City’ arrives as part of an expanded physical package that includes a 2-CD live album, a full concert film, and a cinematic documentary. Recorded during three back-to-back performances in Mexico City, the album documents the band playing to over 200,000 fans as part of their global Memento Mori tour.
Disc 1, titled ‘Depeche Mode: M’, is a film directed by Fernando Frías. Blending live footage, archival material, and stylized sequences, the piece explores the thematic resonance between Depeche Mode’s work and Mexican cultural views on death. Disc 2, ‘Memento Mori: Mexico City’, features the full concert experience and includes four unreleased bonus tracks from the original ‘Memento Mori’ sessions.
The project also includes collectible formats such as a 4 LP vinyl edition and limited cassette releases. Exclusive live photos accompany all versions.
The Memento Mori tour spanned 112 shows and reached over 3 million fans worldwide. It followed the band’s fifteenth studio album, ‘Memento Mori’, released in 2023 to widespread acclaim.
