Movement Festival’s 20th anniversary edition returns to Hart Plaza on May 23rd–25th.

The City of Detroit has officially proclaimed May 18th–25th, 2026, as Detroit Techno Week, recognizing the cultural impact of Movement Music Festival and the broader week of music, creativity, and community surrounding the event.
Signed by Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield ahead of Movement’s 20th anniversary edition under Paxahau’s stewardship, the proclamation highlights the city’s role as the birthplace of techno and the global influence of the city’s electronic music culture.
Movement 2026 is expected to welcome approximately 30,000 attendees and more than 100 performers to Hart Plaza across Memorial Day Weekend, while generating an estimated $20 million in economic activity for the city each year. In a statement shared via Instagram, festival organizers described the recognition as a tribute to “the artists, the pioneers, the dancers, the dreamers, and the people of Detroit who continue to push the culture forward every single day.”
The newly revealed lineup for the anniversary edition features artists including Carl Craig b2b Cajmere, Richie Hawtin, Sara Landry, Ellen Allien b2b DJ Stingray 313, Blawan, Carl Cox, DJ Bone, Kevin Saunderson, The Martinez Brothers b2b Eddie Fowlkes, Boys Noize b2b MCR-T, DJ Heartstring b2b X CLUB., KI/KI, Dom Dolla, Overmono, Rudim3ntal, Tiga, DJ Minx, Green Velvet, Stacey Pullen, and many more across three days at Hart Plaza.
This year’s edition of Movement Music Festival takes place from May 23rd to 25th at Detroit’s riverfront Hart Plaza.
