The DJ AWARDS 2024 is returning after a four-year hiatus. The event will take place on October 2nd at Club Chinois in Ibiza. This 23rd edition promises to be a significant event for the electronic dance music industry.
Founded in 1998, the DJ AWARDS are a premier recognition in electronic dance music. Under new ownership and investment, the ceremony continues its tradition of celebrating global DJ culture.
This year’s theme, ‘Unity,’ aligns with dance music’s core values, emphasizing music’s power to bring people together across diverse backgrounds. Andy Grant, the new DJ AWARDS owner, states, “Music has power – the power to unite us, to cheer us up, to give us the chills, to instantly remind us of a long lost memory, to create a vibe, to set a mood, or to even motivate change.”
The 2024 nomination process emphasizes diversity and inclusivity. An industry panel will select nominees across various electronic music genres. Traditional categories like House and Techno will feature alongside resurgent styles such as Progressive House and Trance. Emerging genres like Organic House and Afro House also gain recognition, highlighting their growing influence.
The DJ AWARDS 2024 will honor International DJs, Live Acts, and breakthrough artists who’ve made significant impacts since the last event. Industry Awards, voted on by AFEM professionals, will recognize excellence in global and Ibiza-specific categories, including festivals, tours, charitable contributions, and memorable dance floor moments.
Embracing the participatory spirit of dance music, the awards introduce an innovative ‘Best Dancefloor Memory’ competition. This user-generated contest invites fans worldwide to share their most cherished dance floor moments on Instagram, offering the chance to win a coveted DJ Award.
