DJ Shadow is back on the scene with new details of his upcoming seventh studio LP entitled ‘Action Adventure’. The album is scheduled for release this October 27th,2023, via Mass Appeal/Liquid Amber.
Coming in four years after the artist’s sixth LP, the 23-track double album ‘Our Pathetic Age’, his new ‘Action Adventure’ record is set to be comprised of 14 new tracks, inspired by ’50s horror comic book artists, video store browsing, eBay tape auctions, and more.
“This is about my relationship to music. My life as a collector and curator. All my records and tapes, and no one else’s. I didn’t want to write music that was formatted for vocalists. I wanted to write music that flexed different energies,” said DJ Shadow about the incoming album.
In line with the announcement, the California-born DJ also shared the drop of its first single, ‘Ozone Scraper’, which also features its own video, directed by Stefano Ottaviano.
