All the covers of their releases will be hand-painted surreal works of art.
‘Surrealism’ is the name of the new record label of the Spain-based producer, EdOne. To inaugurate the brand, the artist will release on April 2nd a two-track EP entitled ‘Surrealism’ EP, which also features two remixes by Murat Uncuoglu and Alex Medina.
As indicated in the press release, the first song, which bears the name of the EP, is ‘a piece bathed in a nostalgic mood that leads us to euphoria, adorned with dramatic and tense synthesizers’. Murat Uncuoglu is the special guest in charge of remixing ‘Surrrealism’, who with the use of synthesizers and aggressive sounds, ‘amplifies the dark factor, exhibiting creepy and cavernous sounds’.
‘Devilish Whistle’ is the other original track included on this EP. In this track we can listen to a story told through melodic layers, with the sound of modulated synthesizers, frenetic rhythms, and perfectly synchronized melodies as protagonists. The remix of this track is in charge of Alex Medina, who, as indicated in the press release ‘gives us a casual track with fresh sounds and a breakbeat rhythm that has given him so many satisfactions’.
As its name indicates, art is vital in this label, that’s why the first cover and all the covers of their releases will be surreal works painted by hand. The cover of the first release is a surreal watercolor by designer Manuel Delgado. ‘The painting transmits the union of two parallel worlds where the electronic avant-garde coexists with the influence of surrealist art of the 20th century’, they explain.
