It’s almost that time of the year when the electronic music industries finest meet in arguably the world’s best clubbing capital for the Amsterdam Dance Event. For five days the city is taken over by 9000 delegates and a whopping 500,000 music fans from over 90 countries to learn, network, share ideas and of course enjoy unforgettable dance floor moments. By day you can choose from a plethora of insightful panel discussions, workshops, and presentations to learn about every aspect of the electronic music industry, and by night electronic music of every genre will infuse around 200 venues around the city. Choosing where to go can be difficult, especially if it’s your first time to attend the conference. That’s why we are here to help you get a well-rounded ADE experience by suggesting our favourite events in some of the best locations in Amsterdam. This year the opening is starting off strong with a lot of great choices but remember to pace yourself so you can last until the closing parties on Sunday!

Wednesday, October 16th
For the first time at ADE, Septic, a new concept from Raxon (Drumcode, Ellum, Cocoon) in collaboration with Dskonnect Booking Agency, and the Rotterdam based record label Infinite Depth, will take over Radion, one of the oldest and best nightclubs in the city. The line up is packed with producers that are really impressing us these days so don’t miss this!
Catch Richie Hawtin blurring the lines between techno and technology with his latest live act, and Modeselektor performing their new live show for their most recent album ‘Who Else’, presented by DGTL so expect a crazy audio-visual experience!
The much-loved German duo bring back their label night for the 4th consecutive year with a full roster of talent, this is sure to be another great night of techno!
Thursday, October 17th
Australia’s Rüfüs Du Sol is one of the best new live electronic acts of late. Their album ‘Solace’ has been remixed by some of the best producers in the industry, making their tracks even more danceable. If you want an introduction to some new music or are already a fan, don’t miss this one!
We always love the sounds of Manjumasi, so don’t miss label partners Atish and Mark Slee along with the Listed crew at undoubtably the best bar in Amsterdam, the Duke of Tokyo!
Join one of our favorites, Guy Manzur, along with his beautifully selected line up including Guy J and Britta Unders for what is sure to be a special night at Wolf Atelier, a unique venue you’ll only find parties at during ADE.
The Audio Obscura team are back with an impressive line up of parties, always set in unique locations around Amsterdam. Motor City Drum Ensemble are known for their fun vibes and no doubt they will have the central station jumping at this lil’ venue 😉.
Âme and Dixon invite some of their label’s partners to showcase the best of Innervisions sounds. As usual, the attendees can expect a deep and transcendental musical journey with the cutting-edge audiovisual collective.
These two forward-thinking house labels join forces to throw a special ADE event. Mathias Tazmann, wAFF and Timo Maas will be guiding the Moon Harbour side, while the Exploited Rec will be led by Tensnake, Catz N Dogz, and Frankey and Sandrino. Get involved!
Friday, October 18th
This is one of our most anticipated events of the week with the legendary Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo going back to back all day long! With a huge capacity, the Muziekgebouw will come to life across its various spaces, with Miss Melera on the decks, local favorite Dimitri in the Bimhuis, and a roster from both labels taking over the chapel.
On the other side of the city you’ll find the Life and Death crew taking over Thuishaven, the mainstay party circus of the city. This annual ADE event always boasts artists playing a unique cross-section of sounds from disco to techno led by its founder DJ Tennis.
This impressive line-up including Max Cooper, Kink (live) and John Hopkins is surely to be the place to hear some of the most cutting-edge music in electronica.
Kölsh returns for his label night with guests Henrick Schwartz (live) and Patrice Baumel, who are guaranteed to always have hidden gems fresh from their studios. This party will be an earful of energy, to say the least!
The seminal festival series DGTL brings together a lineup headlined by the electronic legends Orbital. The powerhouse reports that the event is Sold Out. We hope you got your tickets in time!
As part of the Awakenings ADE schedule, Ricardo Villalobos invites legendary crews, FRRC and locals VBX. With a carefully curated artist selection, the lineup includes some minimal and dub heavyweights such as Craig Richards, Ferro, Sonja Moonear and Raresh.
Following three sold-out shows in a row, Keinemusik key players Rampa, Adam Port, &Me and Reznik will be showcasing their imprint’s sound and playing non-stop all their musical “weapons”.
With a solid lineup andhim’s and Oliver’s Koletzki’s gather the Pleinvrees-family in Amsterdam to share some much-needed quality time. Other artists involved are Super Flu, Robag Whrume, Eagles & Butterflies, Pional, Fort Romeau and more.
Some of the most representatives artists of the Italian label will be supporting Tale of Us on their annual ADE meeting. Melodic house and techno at its best!
Saturday, October 19th
One of ADE’s most emblematic venues, Gashouder, will be hosting the classic Awakenings series. For this special event, Joris Voorn brings a lineup talented friends to fill your Day with some of the best techno available.
Eelke Kleijn and Guy J join forces with their labels taking over the two main rooms of the WesternUnie complex for eight hours of music that will surely take you on a journey!
It’s been a decade of dance for one of Berlin’s best nightclubs who also run a record label of the same name. They also run the Watergate compilation series which have been mixed by their roster of incredible DJ/Producers such as WhoMadeWho, Jimi Jules and Matthias Meyer, all of whom will be playing at the ADE event. It will be a celebration of amazing Berlin vibes all night long!
Maeve label bosses Mano Le Tough, The Drifter and Baikal team up once again for their annual event which is always full of musical surprises! This time they’ve invited some special guests so expect even more surprises during the night.
Sven Vath is celebrating 20 years of Cocoon. On the very special occasion they head to Amsterdam for another memorable label night. André Galluzi, Dubfire, Gregor Tresher and Stephan Bodzin (Live) will be with the main man to rock your world.
Divided into three stages, each hosted by a different label, Figure, Mindshake Records and Terminal M, Dockyard Festival offers an all-day promising gathering. Some of the names that stand out are Charlotte de Witte, Dubfire, DVS1, Paco Osuna, Nic Fanciulli, among many others.
The crazy clown Ibiza brand brings on all its residents to Amsterdam for one night during ADE. Some of the usual suspects including Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers and Damian Lazarus will lead the house and techno extravaganza.
Sunday, October 20th
Hailed as the best closing party of ADE 2018 this will no doubt be another amazing event, especially with this beautiful line up! Bring your smiles, your dancing shoes and an outfit that expresses your colorful spirit.
FUSE, an institution of the London nightlife scene, has taken their world-renowned brand on tour for 13 sold out events, and ADE will be their grand finale. With a line up including residents Archie Hamilton and Enzo Siragusa, this will be a great way to end your week, we just hope you took Monday off to enjoy the full ride!
With over 30 acts from the label playing throughout the day this will be a great introduction to some new talent and a chance to hear your Giegling favourites!
The one and only Maceo Plex showcase his label sound with a selected and talented group of artists. Ben UFO, Robert Hood, Joy Orbison, The Hacker, Young Marco are some of the special guests to be part of the Lone Romantic event.
