Theus Mago is the alter ego of Mexican producer Mateo González, known for projects like Bufi (Kitsuné, Discotexas), Sonido Fantasma (Turbo Recordings), and his role as co-head of the label Duro. With Theus Mago, Mateo explores darker, experimental rhythms while keeping his focus firmly on the dancefloor. His breakout came in 2015 with the release of “Ritmo Extraterrestre” on Correspondant, a track that quickly gained the support of Solomun, Dixon, Âme, and Haai, setting off an international touring schedule that hasn’t slowed since.
In recent years, Theus Mago has built a strong catalog across leading imprints such as Lumière Noire, Turbo Recordings, Optimo, Ombra Intl, Feines Tier, Pets Recordings, Correspondant, and of course, his own Duro. Always shifting yet consistent in energy, his music continues to strike a balance between the unexpected and the irresistible pull of the club.
