EG.1040 Acid Pauli

Acid Pauli mixes are rare. When they appear, they feel less like DJ sets and more like carefully woven narratives. For EG Podcast 1040, Martin Gretschmann delivers one of those rare journeys, drifting from hypnotic grooves to playful detours with the kind of detail that has made him one of the most unpredictable figures in electronic music.

The podcast follows his latest project for Compost Records: reinterpretations of Val Xalino’s Dançá Dançá T’Manchê, a piece of Cape Verdean musical history. The digital edition was released on July 4, with the 12-inch vinyl available worldwide as of August 29. Featuring three unique Acid Pauli reworks plus a bonus digital edit, the release pays homage to Xalino, whose 1980s albums are coveted rarities, while channeling Pauli’s unmistakable touch.

Over the last two decades, Acid Pauli has carved a path outside the mainstream, moving between clubs, festivals, and art spaces with sets that can range from intimate tributes to Leonard Cohen to collaborations with traditional musicians in India or live homages to Sakamoto in Japan. His work always feels personal, unpredictable, and alive.

This podcast captures that spirit: eclectic, surprising, and deeply human.
