The ‘jouneyman’ theory of taking crowds on a unique trip with his blend of deep, techy grooves and uplifting progressive styles is how Nick Stoynoff approaches performing sets for his audiences. Raised in the Chicagoland area, Nick was exposed to many of the pioneers of house music at a young age. As a Chicago night club veteran, Nick has over ten years’ experience performing at many key venues in Chicago and the United States. In that time, he has been selected to open up for several notable acts such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, 16 Bit Lolitas, Gabriel & Dresden, and Matthew Dekay to name a few.
As a producer, Nick has been regularly charted on Beatport and contributes that success to his desire to keep that ‘classic’ production sound alive is his work. Most recently, his ‘Run Things’ EP made it in to the Top 10 Progressive House Chart, showing that Stoynoff has no signs of slowing down. In the past decade he has built up an impressive discography of over 100 releases that include originals and remixes that have been featured on well-known labels such as Alola, Armada, Black Hole, Afterglow, Cr2, Baroque, Proton, Enhanced, and many of the Proton sub labels. His sound bears all the hallmarks of the halcyon days of early Gloabal Underground compilations, with its intrinsic attention to detail, spaciousness, and intelligent progressive arrangements. Always striving for a balance of drive and melodic atmospheres, Nick continues to approach every song with a unique objective in mind. Nick’s commitment to production has earned him numerous notable accolades including winning a DJ Mag competition to remix Mark Brown’s “New Heights”, which featured Nick’s remix on Cr2. His music has also been featured on Pete Tong’s “Fast Trax”, Baroque Records ‘Exploring America’ and Omid 16b’s ‘Alola Presents’. Additionally, Stoynoff’s work has been part of several compilations such as ‘Ibiza Trance House 2009’, Solarstone’s ‘Electronic Architecture 2 and 3’, and several others. On air, Nick has even hosted Molecule Session on Proton Radio.
Outside of the electronic music world, Nick is still about music where he is a full time staff audio engineer. He has engineered/mixed/mastered/tracked a variety of bands for a number of clients in the United States with genres ranging from Jazz, Pop, Classical music, to even working in the post production field. This has afforded him the ability to develop a deep sensibility and well-rounded resume. He is thankful to have a full-time career in music where he is exposed to several of the classic and emerging technologies at the professional level.
