Daniel Bortz is Augsburg-based techno DJ-producer. After his first EP in 2007, his profile grew considerably around the turn of the decade with a string of releases and remixes, all shared between a number of different imprints, including Innervisions, Suol and Permanent Vacation. Although his earliest roots lie in dub-techno, his long-standing appreciation for more minimal, stripped-back soundscapes is evidenced throughout his ever-growing discography.
Those who have seen him DJ will note a remarkable diversity in his output, reflective of both his extensive musical knowledge and rich education. Alongside his DJing and production, Bortz also co-runs Pastamusik, an independent label that has housed several of his earlier and more recent works. Despite a history in techno in all its forms, the Munich-based imprint’s releases also encompass house, electro and ambient.
