Magda Chojnacka, known professionally as DJ Magda. She was born in Poland and grew up in Detroit, Michigan, where she was exposed to the city’s rich electronic music culture. Magda became deeply involved in the Detroit techno scene, inspired by the sounds of artists like Derrick May, Juan Atkins, and Richie Hawtin.
In the late 1990s, Magda began her career as a DJ, performing at local clubs and underground parties in Detroit. Her eclectic style and innovative approach to mixing quickly caught the attention of both audiences and fellow artists.
Magda’s breakthrough came when she joined Richie Hawtin’s renowned M-nus label, becoming one of its key artists. She released several EPs and tracks on the label, showcasing her talent for blending minimal techno with experimental sounds.
Throughout her career, Magda has toured extensively, performing at top clubs and festivals around the world. Her DJ sets are known for their hypnotic rhythms, intricate layering, and seamless transitions, earning her a dedicated following among electronic music enthusiasts.
In addition to her DJing career, Magda is also a skilled producer, releasing music under her own name as well as collaborative projects. She continues to push the boundaries of electronic music, exploring new sonic territories and pushing the limits of what is possible in the realm of dance music.
Magda remains an influential figure in the global electronic music scene, admired for her creativity, technical skill, and passion for pushing the boundaries of electronic music.
