Alex V comes from Severomorsk on Russia’s Kola Peninsula, a land of midnight sun and endless winter night. A chance radio play of Kraftwerk’s ‘The Robots’ in the early ’90s sparked a lifelong love of electronic sound.
Over the years, he moved through rave, jungle, house, trance, industrial, ambient, and Berlin School, finally launching his Shapeless Lab project in 2010 with help from DP-6. Releases have ranged from progressive house and breaks to a 2015 psychill album, all colored by a touch of ’90s spirit.
After a pause in creativity, a long-overlooked SoundCloud message from Ricky Ryan nudged him back to the studio in 2024. Today, every Shapeless Lab track is a mood experiment—no style limits, just fresh ideas.
