Brussels-based EMJIE and Parisian producer Emma B have teamed up for ‘Ace Of Spades’, a new three-track EP out now via Exploited. The release is already receiving support from key names like Sarah Story, Jamie Jones, and Massimiliano Pagliara.
‘Ace Of Spades’ marks the duo’s debut on Exploited Club, offering a trio of tightly produced tracks built for club floors. From punchy organ motifs to intricate percussion and soaring harmonies, the EP blends groove-driven house with nods to 90s and 2000s minimal and trance.
Opening track ‘Ace Of Spades’ pairs proggy basslines with crisp drums, while vocals and synths spiral into a euphoric, peak-time blend. ‘My Favourite’ follows with sharp, infectious drums and a climbing synth-bass pairing that leans into a loose, sultry energy. Closing the set, ‘The Bass You Need’ delivers bongo-led rhythms and trippy textures that recall the classic UK tech house sound of labels like Pagan and Swag.
EMJIE arrives off the back of releases on Get Physical and Yes Yes Yes, as well as recent appearances alongside Diplo, Dixon, and LP Giobbi. Her sound combines stripped-back indie textures with sleek house elements. Emma B, meanwhile, has built her name with outings on Shall Not Fade and BBC Radio 1’s Stories, plus gigs at Fabric London, Shelter Amsterdam, and Rex Paris.
