DJ and producer Erick Morillo has been found dead today in the city of Miami. The artist was 49 years old.
The world-renowned musician, known for his 1993 hit ‘I Like To Move It’ as part of Real 2 Real, was discovered at a property in Miami Beach on Tuesday morning, according to the police.
Officer Ernesto Rodriguez of the Miami Beach Police Department told: “We received a 911 call this morning at 10.42am to 5660 La Gorce Drive. Detectives are currently on scene and in the preliminary stages of the investigation.”
Born in New York with Colombian roots, Erick Morillo ran his own label Subliminal Records, and won DJ Awards’ Best House DJ and Best International DJ three times, among other musical recognitions.
