Faithless have announced their eighth studio album ‘Champion Sound’, set for release in four parts throughout the summer. The series begins with ‘Forever Free’, out now via ADA, and features the final recorded vocal by the band’s late frontman Maxi Jazz.
The release marks Faithless’ return after a five-year hiatus and introduces a new era for the pioneering UK act. Headed by original members Rollo and Sister Bliss, ‘Champion Sound’ is a double album rolled out across four segments: ‘Forever Free’, followed by ‘Phone Number’ in July, ‘Book of Hours’ in August, and the full album in September.
‘Forever Free’ opens with its title track, where synth chords and choral vocals set the tone before Maxi Jazz’s unmistakable voice takes center stage. The track stands as a moving tribute to the beloved frontman, whose performances on anthems like ‘Insomnia’ and ‘God Is A DJ’ remain central to the Faithless legacy. The EP continues with ‘In Your Own Groove’ featuring L.S.K., blending house rhythms with soulful melodies. ‘Fugitive’ delivers cinematic textures, while the closing track, ‘Peace And Noise’, features spoken word artist Suli Breaks and maintains the ‘Forever Free’ lyrical thread.
Additional collaborators across the upcoming parts include Bebe Rexha, Emmanuel Jal, and Antony Szmierek. Faithless sold out major London venues on their recent European tour, showcasing their signature blend of live and electronic music. The group will headline summer festivals like Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, and Pinkpop, plus intimate Irish shows featuring their new ‘Champion Sound’ material. Tickets available here.
