German producer Fejká, known for his atmospheric and soulful sound, has invited eight musicians and friends to contribute to a remix album of his 2022 album, ‘Hiraeth’. The LP will be released on October 5th on Ki Records.
The original ‘Hiraeth’ album is inspired by the Welsh word for “a longing for something that can never be regained.” It has been praised for its ability to convey complex emotions, such as nostalgia, melancholy, and hope.
The ‘Hiraeth Remixes’ will offer a new perspective on the original tracks. One of the versions features Vancouver-based music producer Tor, who reimagines Henry Green’s tender vocals against a more minimalistic backdrop. Tor’s remix departs from the original’s synth-heavy melodies and introduces an elegant breakbeat structure that gives the track a new and punchier vibe.
Fejká says he is excited to share the ‘Hiraeth Remixes’ with his fans. He says these new versions “offer a fresh take on the original tracks and showcase the unique talents of the artists involved.”
