A fire broke out at Berlin’s club Renate early Thursday morning, damaging the venue’s entrance and outdoor areas. The blaze started shortly after 2 AM in the front garden, according to Berlin Morgenpost.
Journalist Julian Würzer, reporting from the scene, captured footage of firefighters tackling the fire and shared it on X at 2:29 AM. The Berlin Fire Department managed to control the blaze within an hour, successfully preventing it from reaching the main building. No injuries were reported.
Renate’s team clarified: “While the initial footage and reporting of the fire was very alarming, we are relieved to say that the reality is not as scary as it first seemed.” The team also noted their commitment to reopening for one of the busiest weekends of the year despite the setback, asking for patience during the recovery process.
