Florian Picasso opens 2026 with a bold new single, ‘Pretty Boy’, released today on RAW. Marking a darker turn in his sonic direction, the track leans into his grittier underground influences.
Departing from the more playful tone of previous releases, ‘Pretty Boy’ taps into a heavier club aesthetic defined by deep basslines and stripped-back aggression. It’s a move Picasso says was inspired by his admiration for genre-crossing artists like Boys Noize.
“I’ve always admired how Alex (Boys Noize) moves between genres with such grit,” he shares. “We were at dinner after the Dekadance show, and I found myself in total fanboy mode, just talking shop and soaking in his perspective on that raw electro-techno crossover. I went back to the studio wanting to create something he’d actually play… ‘Pretty Boy’ is the result of that energy.”
The release follows a breakout year for Florian, including appearances at Solomun +1 at Pacha Ibiza, a career-first all-night-long set at Rex Club Paris, and a showcase at Amsterdam Dance Event in collaboration with DureVie. His Dekadance project continues to blur the lines between club culture and fashion, while his presence at Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks reflects his broader cultural impact.
