Both were released on Christmas day.
UK producer Four Tet announced on his social networks that at 12 o’clock at night, just at the beginning of December 25th, two new albums titled ‘Parallel’ and ‘871’ would be available on his Bandcamp page.
‘Parallel’ is a reflection of Kieran Hebden’s recent work, showcasing his unique sampling skills and imagination, as he creates the entrancing harmonies that have become a staple of Four Tet’s arsenal. On the other hand, ‘871’ is attributed to Hebden’s 00110100 01010100 alias (in binary this translates as 4T). More on the leftfield, the second album presents a grunge driven sound and was recorded in 15 months between 1995 and 1997, painting a sort of ‘origins’ story.
