Roland Leesker, a key figure in Get Physical’s musical journey for nearly a decade and a half, is set to release his debut album, ‘Searching for Peace’, to be out on August 30th, 2024.
‘Searching for Peace’ showcases Leesker’s adventurous spirit and musical talent. From the upbeat ‘Keep On’, characterized by its rich chords and catchy vocals, to the warm and inviting ‘Summer House’, perfect for outdoor dancing, each track offers a distinct exploration of sound.
Collaborations such as ‘Let It All Go’ with Dan Diamond reflect modern life musings, highlighted by a captivating lead synth motif. The album concludes with ‘Afunukuthula’, a deeply emotional track featuring Xhosa vocals from Sobantwana, layered over emotional synths and piano chords.
Leesker, more than just a producer, has played a significant role in defining Get Physical’s label sounds, discovering new talent, and curating popular releases. His collaborations with industry veterans like DJ Pierre and Roland Clark, along with numerous solo releases, have made a lasting impression on the scene. ‘Searching for Peace’ is his most extensive and impressive work to date.
