Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) recently announced that Grandmaster Flash, a founding father and turntable legend, will give a special keynote on the evolution of hip hop and DJ culture as part of the ADE Beats Conference. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the genre, and the keynote will celebrate this milestone. The event will take place from October 18th to 22nd. The North American artist will speak on October 22nd, 2023.

Grandmaster Flash’s innovative techniques have had a profound impact on generations of DJs and musical artists. By using record players and vinyl to create new music, splicing and mixing breaks with two turntables, and scratching, he laid the foundation for turntablism and turned DJs into fully-fledged live acts. During his upcoming exclusive keynote Q&A and masterclass at the Amsterdam Dance Event, he will take attendees on a journey through the evolution of hip hop and DJ culture.
