Grant resurfaces with stripped-down single ‘Sidefoot Step’

Producer ends decade-long studio silence; new cut quickly flags Traxsource curators’ attention

Spekulla Records has issued ‘Sidefoot Step,’ the latest offering from Mexican-born artist Grant, now based in Warsaw. Fresh from the oven, the track marks his first official output since 2011 and has already landed in Traxsource’s Weekend Weapons list.

Built on clipped percussion, elastic swing, and sparse melodic flourishes, ‘Sidefoot Step’ reflects Grant’s leaner, club-focused aesthetic. The producer first drew notice in 2010 when he launched Union Jack Records and secured a Balance Music compilation slot, earning plays from selectors including Seth Troxler, Pezzner, Atish, and Sasse before stepping away to refine his craft.

Explaining the long hiatus, Grant notes that he “studied the scene from the sidelines” to return with a sound that feels both precise and personal.

‘Sidefoot Step’ is available now via Beatport and Traxsource.
