The release takes inspiration from old samba records.
German artist Vincent Beckmann just dropped his debut EP under his Han Duo alias. The four-tracker is entitled ‘Phil in Rio’ and is released via his own label enbeezee.
The Hamburg-based musician took inspiration to produce these tracks from a recent trip to Rio de Janeiro where he was introduced to old samba records and proceeded to blend his jazz-drummer knowledge into this new musical material. The A-Side shows two downtempo tracks with a vibe that is driven by pure percussion samples. On the B-Side he explores further rhythmic possibilities with trip-hop sounds.
Han Duo will be celebrating the EP’s release on Hamburg’s Volt on November 30th, alongside wht_distance and juran landt.
