In just one year, he’s secured eight tracks on Beatport’s Top 100 and landed releases on respected imprints like Dear Deer and Area Verde Music. His energetic and emotional performances have taken him from the clubs of Georgia and Thailand to Ibiza and the Netherlands, connecting with audiences through a dynamic mix of indie dance, tech house, and vocal-driven grooves.
Now, as 2026 unfolds, Histar is entering a new chapter—one marked by creative risks, sharpened focus, and a sound aimed squarely at the dancefloor.
In this conversation, he opens up about the process behind his standout track ‘Striker’, recent support from Solomun and Anyma, and what comes next as his vision grows clearer.
EG: Hi, Dmytro! Welcome to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been doing? How did you kickstart this new year?
Histar: Thanks for the invite. At the moment, my life and creative activity are focused on two key regions – Asia and Europe. In Asia, I’m primarily active in Thailand, while in Europe I’m active in the Netherlands, Georgia, and Turkey. This year, I plan to expand the geography of my performances and start playing in new countries, discovering new scenes and audiences along the way. When it comes to balancing studio work and live performances, it has become a very natural process for me. In almost every city I visit, I’ve built connections and friendships with people I enjoy creating music with. While traveling, I constantly capture ideas – taking notes, sketching concepts, and absorbing moods. Once I’m back in the studio, I bring all of these elements together and turn them into finished tracks.
EG: First of all, thank you for your contribution to our EG Spotlight Mix Series. We really enjoyed it. Tell us, is there a concept driving this mix? How do you typically approach creating these types of mixes?
Histar: Right now, the creative process feels very intense and focused. The stakes are high, and I’m in a phase where I want to go all in – creating bolder, more aggressive, and emotionally driven tracks. Together with my team, led by my manager, we’ve been actively shaping the next direction, and we agreed that this is the moment to take risks, raise the energy, and deliver music with real impact. In the studio, I’m currently focused on refining my sound and building the next chapter of my artistic identity.
EG: The mix also features your track ‘Striker’. What’s the story behind this one?
Histar: The story behind the track ‘Striker’ is directly connected to the music Solomun plays. Work on the track lasted for more than half a year – a period of deep immersion, analyzing his performances and productions, and searching for details and moods that eventually transformed into the sound of ‘Striker’. For me, this is a very special track. A lot of time, focus, and energy went into it, and I truly feel that it still has a strong journey ahead and will prove itself on a high level.
“The vision for the next stage is very clear – the goals are set even higher now, and the direction of my sound is evolving in a stronger and more focused way”
EG: By the way, ‘Striker’ has been doing the rounds thanks to names like Solomun and Anyma. How are you feeling with this kind of support?
Histar: It hasn’t been just one track – there has been consistent support across multiple productions. Solomun has played several of my unreleased tracks, and I’ve also received strong feedback and plays from many respected artists in the scene, as well as support from major radio stations. This recognition has been really encouraging and shows that the music is connecting on a wider level.
EG: Speaking about tracks…we saw your unreleased track ‘Blackout’ working that dancefloor. Any plans to release it soon? Is there anything that you can anticipate on that front? How have things been in the studio lately?
Histar: At the moment, I’m deeply focused on working on a large amount of new material, which I’m confident will make a strong impact this year within the indie dance and tech house scenes. This sound feels very close to me right now – energetic, driving, with a strong emphasis on vocals inspired by hip-hop aesthetics. I believe this combination will become one of the key trends this year. Just keep an eye on what I’m doing – I promise there are plenty of surprises ahead.

EG: We know that every track is different, but what does your creative process look like when starting a new one? Do you have any routines to get into a flow state?
Histar: When it comes to the creative process, it’s become very natural for me. I often find inspiration during my travels – taking notes, sketching melodies or grooves, and collecting moods from different places. These raw ideas later become tracks once I return to the studio. In almost every city I visit, I collaborate with friends and fellow artists, which helps keep the energy fresh and the creativity flowing.

EG: How do you envision this next phase of your career? What would you like to accomplish in the next few years?
Histar: The vision for the next stage is very clear – the goals are set even higher now, and the direction of my sound is evolving in a stronger and more focused way. There’s a lot of exciting music and projects coming soon, and you’ll discover it step by step. Stay tuned, and make sure to follow me on Instagram 😎
