The LA-based band, How???, has released their latest album through Misra Records. This album represents a significant milestone for the band as it’s the first self-produced work by Alex Tebeleff, in collaboration with Matthew Dowling.
The album, ‘How???’, honors the band’s psychedelic roots in Paperhaus while embracing a variety of influences, from Texas Americana and electronic soundscapes to the experimental sounds of artists like Björk and the pop sensibility of the 80s.
The LP was created during the challenging COVID era, yet it finds beauty, transcending the limitations of time. The band’s musical approach, inspired by luminaries like David Bowie, REM, and Kraftwerk, treats the studio as an instrument itself, thereby crafting a sound that is both surprising and familiar.
How??? is the creation of Alex Tebeleff and Matthew Dowling, an evolution from their previous project, Paperhaus. This was more than a musical group; it was a DIY space that welcomed touring acts from around the world. The project later transformed into the DCDIT collective, hosting performances in a range of venues, including the esteemed Kennedy Center.
