Spain is preparing to return to international tourism safely.
Tourist activity on the White Island will restart soon. In a recent appearance on national TV, Spain’s Minister of Tourism, Reyes Maroto, promised that the country ‘will guarantee safe mobility starting June.’ By that time, the EU’s ‘digital green certificate’ vaccine passport should be operational.
‘This will allow our country to reopen safely and be pioneers,’ Maroto said of the certificate. This requirement will allow travelers to prove that they have been vaccinated against Covid-19, that they have recently recovered from the virus, or that they have had a negative test result through a QR code.
The minister also focused on reporting on Spain’s vaccine program, and commented that ‘the most important thing is to build trust, and this trust is earned by fighting the pandemic and vaccinating, vaccinating and vaccinating.’ In this way, Ibiza seeks to position itself as a safe destination to travel to.
