Innellea has shared a candid statement on Instagram addressing the creative pressures of staying relevant in a fast-moving electronic music landscape.

In a two-part post titled “I feel stuck,” the producer reflects on his journey from early rave experiences to building a project that spans ambient, melodic, tech house, breakbeats, and techno. “Do you remember your first rave? Mine changed my life,” he writes, describing a space “without boxes, without judgment” where he first felt a sense of belonging.

He acknowledges how trends, algorithms, and shifting scenes influence artists over time, and admits that recent feedback about what “Innellea should sound like” has weighed on him. “Yet somehow, I feel stuck. Locked into expectations. Into boxes I never wanted to step into. What am I actually allowed to do as an artist?”

The post also revisits the breadth of his project, from extended genre-spanning sets to live shows incorporating vocals and guitar. “It was never just one sound. It was always the full spectrum of electronic music. And it still is.”

Concluding the message, Innellea shares that he is stepping back to reconnect with himself and his original motivations. “Right now, I don’t have an answer. What I do know is that I need to step back from noise, from feeds, from opinions. I’m taking some space to reconnect with myself, with the music, and with the reason I started all of this in the first place.”
