EG: Hi, Ricardo! Welcome to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been? Where are you right now?

Albuquerque: Hey! Thank you very much! Glad to talk to you. I’m very well. At the right moment, I’m in Santa Monica, California enjoying the city and preparing myself to play in San Diego and Miami.

EG: First of all, congratulations on the incoming release of your brand new single on with Kostya Outta, ‘Timeless’! You must be excited to finally share this one. What has the initial reception been like so far? Do you remember the first time you played this one live?

Albuquerque: Thank you! I love Kostya’s music and this is the second track we’ve made together. I feel we’re reaching a common point between our styles and that’s cool. I see ‘Timeless’ as a genuine progressive house song, so it must be played for special crowds that are able to receive this kind of energy. That was the case in Argentina where I just toured a week ago. People are a hundred percent into underground music and they’re open to listening to new stuff. It was absolutely amazing!

EG: So, what’s ‘Timeless’ all about? Is there an inspirational trigger behind this one? What can your fans find here?

Albuquerque: Yes, for sure. There’s always a message on deep house and progressive, and this one is no different. We always wanna put out their music that won’t get old and make you think somehow. This is something crazy cause there’s no lyrics on it. Making people absorb some nostalgic or reflective feelings from instrumental music is a challenge we like to face. ‘Timeless’ will be released on my label Sonido Profundo which means deep sounds, and it says a lot.

EG: What was the process of collaborating with Kostya Outta? In your opinion, what is it that makes for a successful collaboration?

Albuquerque: We always listen to each other music. I have played many of his tracks for a long time already. He lives in Bielorussia and I live in Brazil, so we talked about the direction on this one at first. Kostya started and sent me the project. I took a few weeks working on some details and arrangements and sent him back. We played a few times, proved and sent it mixed to our master engineer.

EG: You are the resident artist for the world-renowned Warung Beach Club. Following the events at Warung, what’s next for the brand?

Albuquerque: Yes, it’s been a cool journey representing the club around the globe. I was a regular on Warung’s dance floor since 2008, so when I became officially a resident DJ in 2013 it was a blast. I run the club’s label for eleven years as well, so we’re always connected with the club. We have many important events coming up in 2024 that I’m thrilled about, especially in the USA.

EG: Speaking about the USA, let’s talk about the Pool Party at The Sagamore Hotel on December 3rd. Congratulations on this new development! What can you anticipate on that front?

Albuquerque: Yes, this is awesome! We found the right partners in the US and I’m astonished about what can happen next months. Warung is a respected brand for its music selection and unique atmosphere. Together we will come up with classy events regarding quality music and energy. I’m super excited to announce. Miami will be a kickoff.

EG: How do you envision  Warung’s growth in the USA?

Albuquerque: It will happen naturally. Good music is bigger everywhere in the US and Warung is a brand already known to the American audience. People know what to expect in terms of quality and we wanna be alongside artists who think deeply and people who really can feel music. I’m glad we’re alongside Kike Roldan and his team on this project. We wanna show fine visuals and the best music you can hear on Earth.

EG: Finally, can you provide some insights into what’s next for Albuquerque? What’s in store for 2024? Where can your fans catch you next?

Albuquerque: I will be in San Diego and Miami for the next few days. I’m super excited about this one, there are lots of messages from people who wanna join me. Wanna do my best and come back as soon as possible. I have the summer starting in Brazil in 2 weeks, and this a time I travel a lot from the northeast to the extreme south, so it will be crazy. People on vacation, lots of parties and that’s what we love, right? I also have many cool releases on Warung Recordings and Sonido Profundo. It will be a lot of work!

EG: Thank you so much for your time, Ricardo! We wish you all the best for the future. Take care!

Albuquerque: Likewise, thanks for having me!
