As we look ahead to 2025, designated by UNESCO as the International Year of the Glacier, Parties4Peace is bringing the Patagonica DJ Tour to Chile—reaching Valparaíso, Concepción, Santiago, and deep into the pristine south of Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales. This initiative combines music, environmental advocacy, and cultural exchange to highlight urgent issues like climate change and the protection of UNESCO World Heritage sites. DJ Alice Iguchi, originally from Tokyo and currently based in New York City, shares her musical journey, her passion for the environment, and her excitement for this special tour.
During the Patagonica DJ tour, Parties4Peace organizes a series of events throughout Chile in various cities: Valparaíso, Concepción, Santiago, and we go down to Patagonia to Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales. Each city provides a unique opportunity to reach more people with our message of peace and sustainable development. In Chile, they are working together with their partner organizations to declare Patagonia a World Heritage site recognized by UNESCO. Patagonica started on the Peace Boat with the oldest environmental non-profit in Chile called CODEFF, the National Committee to Protect the Flora and Fauna. This has been their ongoing mission for over 16 years!
The tour also supports youth representatives working on environmental sustainability in the region to join Peace Boat’s ‘Youth for the SDGs’ program for the United Nations Ocean Decade, as we traveled onboard from Ushuaia, Argentina, to Antarctica, and then onwards to Chile.

EG: Hi Alice, always a pleasure to chat with you. Where are you right now?
Alice Iguchi: The pleasure is mine. I’m in Chile now as part of the Patagonica tour. Very exciting!
EG: Sounds exciting. First, tell us about your music, what is inspiring you today, and why did you want to join this tour?
Alice Iguchi: My music is always evolving; it’s about self-expression and, more importantly, creating experiences that allow me to share meaningful moments with the crowd. What inspires me today is the realization that music is not only for dancing or listening—it has the power to connect people, inspire change, and deliver important messages. By joining the Parties4Peace Patagonica tour, I hope to use my music as a platform to raise awareness about the environmental issues facing our world. Music can inspire us to take action, and I’m excited to be part of a movement that brings people together for such an important cause.
EG: If you could choose one environmental issue that you care about—what would it be and why?
Alice Iguchi: If I had to choose one environmental issue, it would be climate change and the preservation of our ecosystems. I believe many of us are already feeling the shift in the climate across the world—changes that become more evident every year. We’re losing the glaciers of Patagonia, the forests of the Amazon, and even the bee population—all of which play a crucial role in maintaining the delicate balance of life on Earth. To protect our future, it’s vital that we address climate change and preserve our ecosystems. It’s our responsibility as inhabitants of this planet to take action before it’s too late.
EG: Is this your first time collaborating with Parties4Peace? Why do you think it’s important for artists to donate their time and talent for global issues like conservation?
Alice Iguchi: I have been part of Parties4Peace events since 2018, and I believe in playing music for a cause. Music has always been a source of personal growth for me, and if I can contribute my talents to something as important as environmental conservation, it feels deeply meaningful to me!
“I feel incredibly lucky and grateful for the opportunity to explore this stunning part of the world. I’m excited to witness the power of nature and the breathtaking landscapes”
EG: UNESCO announced that 2025 is the International Year of the Glacier. Why are you excited to explore Patagonia and the glaciers of the pristine south?
Alice Iguchi: In my early 20s, I spent a year backpacking, and during that time, many fellow travelers spoke of the beauty of Patagonia. Unfortunately, I never made it there back then, but it has always been one of the places I’ve dreamed of visiting. Now, I feel incredibly lucky and grateful for the opportunity to explore this stunning part of the world. I’m excited to witness the power of nature and the breathtaking landscapes, and I hope this experience will remind both me and others of the importance of preserving the natural beauty that still exists on our planet.
EG: Do you have any message for the people who will come to hear your music in Chile? What do you hope to share through your art/music during the tour?
Alice Iguchi: I’m so excited to meet the people of Chile! I am originally from Tokyo, and Chile feels like one of the farthest places from home. I’m looking forward to connecting with everyone through this tour. Through my music, I hope to share inspiration and, most importantly, the beauty of connection that comes through art.
EG: What’s your next big project you are working on? Anything new?
Alice Iguchi: Right after the Patagonica tour, I’ll be heading to Asia for a month. I have some exciting shows lined up, and the dates will be announced soon on my social media!
EG: Anything else you want to add?
Alice Iguchi: The world has faced many challenges and moments of sadness in recent years, and it’s easy to lose hope at times. But I want to remind everyone of the power of manifestation and belief. Let’s keep our faith in the possibility of a better, more peaceful world, and continue to work together toward making it a reality.
EG: Thanks for the time and enjoy the tour!
Alice Iguchi: Thank you. Always a pleasure. Take care!
