Bubba Brothers are two techno and house DJs who started their careers in early 2015, integrated by Eliseu Correia and Justino Santos, a couple of friends from Portugal who have become a regular and popular presence in clubs and festivals. The duo has produced multiple dancefloor-hits throughout time, making their careers grow at a strong and fast pace.
EG caught up with Bubba Brothers to learn more about the drop of their latest release, their incoming ‘Frenetic Tour’, their Mossdeb Sounds label, and more.
EG: Hi Bubba Brothers! Welcome to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been? Where are you based right now?
Bubba Brothers: Hi 🙂 All good on this side and it s a pleasure to be here. We are based in the Algarve, Portugal, as usual.
EG: First of all, congratulations on the release of your new ‘Frenetic Desire’ EP! You must be very excited. What has the initial reception been like? How do you feel about this one?
Bubba Brothers: Yes we are. The reception has been amazing and the results speak for themselves. We had Hannah Wants including ‘Desire’ in one of her sets, and actually, we are big fans of her, so that is awesome 🙂
EG: And, what can your fans expect to find on ‘Frenetic Desire’? What is it that sets this one apart from the rest?
Bubba Brothers: The difference lies in the beat and the grooves of the tracks. It’s different from anything we have done so far. Also, having Eddy Romero’s mix gives this a different touch.
EG: And, like you said, the EP also hosts a remix by Eddy Romero. Did you personally select Eddy for this remix? How was that first playback experience when you got the remix? What do you usually look for first in a remix of your music?
Bubba Brothers: Eddy Romero is one of the legends of the industry and also he manages a lot of things related to Bubba Brothers. So it was logical that he would be supporting us with one of his magic remixes.

EG: And this release comes right before you guys kick off your ‘Frenetic Tour’, right? What cities are you planning on visiting? What can your fans expect from this tour?
Bubba Brothers: We will definitely do Ibiza, the UK, and Amsterdam… and that is all we can reveal at the moment. It will be a Bubba Brothers-style tour, meaning a lot of passion and power as they expect from us.
EG: You guys are also behind your own Mossdeb Sounds imprint. What can we expect on that front in the coming months? Is there anything you can anticipate?
Bubba Brothers: Well, we are going to have more guests mixing and releasing for the label, and there will be some nice surprises for sure. We want to maintain our house and tech house line of editing, so it is clear what this label stands for.
EG: There’s quite a buzz currently around Portugal with electronic music and live events. Why do you think it’s becoming more and more popular? What’s your take on the scene in Portugal?
Bubba Brothers: Portugal has become more and more enthusiastic about electronic music with every passing year. Every year different festivals arise and with a lot of quality, bringing a lot of the big names to our country. We try to support this how much as we can with our music and tours so that the audience can grow every day.
EG: How do you keep entertained when not in the studio? Have you checked out any good movies, series, books, or albums you’d recommend?
Bubba Brothers: I like anything that is related to true stories movies or dramas, so I recommend to watch ‘The Whale’ movie, and also the documentaries about Nirvana and Eric Clapton on Netflix. The last book I read was the biography of the king, Carl Cox …it had to be!

EG: Can you tell us something about you that very few people know about?
Bubba Brothers: We are not real brothers actually…we are best friends, like forever, so it’s a good moment to clarify that 🙂
EG: What’s next for Bubba Brothers? What particular milestones are you looking forwards to this 2023? Where can your fans catch you next?
Bubba Brothers: We hope to play some major festivals this year, so there is plenty of things cooking at the moment, but the next gig will be in Portugal’s Nr. 1 Rooftop Eva, in Faro on the 13th of May of 2023.
EG: Thank you so much for your time, Bubba Brothers! We wish you all the best for the future.
Bubba Brothers: Thank you very much for having us… We appreciate your support and time. Obrigado.
