Housekeeping is a deep, funky, soulful tech and techno events, run by four DJ/producers with a sole goal of creating hedonistic vibes globally.
We caught up with them to talk about their upcoming London event on December 15th, 2018 at Proud Embankment.
Electronic Groove: Hi Guys. To get things started, how did Housekeeping began? What’s the story behind the collective?
Housekeeping: It was conceived in London back in 2012. The collective was born out of a shared passion for underground house music with the aim of bringing the spirit of Ibiza to the West End club scene which was much more geared towards mainstream music at the time.
EG: Where does the name come from?
Housekeeping: When we threw our first party in London, someone came up with the idea of calling the night “ménage” in French. But we quickly translated it to Housekeeping in English and the rest is history!
EG: 2018 has been an exciting year. Can you give us some insight and some highlights?
Housekeeping: 2018 was a massive year for us. We were invited back to Hï Ibiza and were entrusted with holding up the Club Room for 20 consecutive Saturdays alongside Black Coffee in the main room.
We helped curate some of the line-up and were honored to play alongside some of the most credible names in the industry. We’ve been busy playing around Europe as well with stops in Mykonos and mainland Spain and we’ve also had the privilege of playing twice at Fabric in London which is a bit of a dream come true for us.
“As always, we will deliver the best music, the best crowd and the
best vibes London has to offer”
EG: Are there any plans on returning to Ibiza in 2019?
Housekeeping: Still early stage, but given Ibiza is our spiritual home and we’ve been playing there for six years now, we definitely expect to be back on the island in 2019 in one form or another!
EG: We’ve heard there’s a celebrating coming soon. What’s this all about?
Housekeeping: That’s right! On Saturday the 15th of December we throw our final Housekeeping show for the year. We return to Proud Embankment which has undergone a big refurb since we last played there together with Black Coffee 2 years ago. This time, we’re taking it back to basics and will be manning the decks all night long together with our Housekeeping Records collective. As always, we will deliver the best music, the best crowd and the best vibes London has to offer!

EG: Talking about releases, is there anything special prepared for the end of the year and into 2019?
Housekeeping: We’ll be ramping up our release schedule going into year-end and early 2019 so keep your eyes peeled! We’ll be showcasing some of our upcoming releases on the 15th so come down if you want a sneak peek!
EG: What is the secret behind Housekeeping? Any advice for those who are starting in the music business?
Housekeeping: Housekeeping is a pure passion project. It was never about the money for us. Anything that grows out of passion will always be stronger and more resilient. So, our advice would be to follow your passion and the rest will follow!
