German-Venezuelan artist Ivohé has unveiled her sophomore album ‘Lonestar,’ an exploration of urban life’s complexities. This release seamlessly blends hyper pop, electronica, and R&B. Collaborating with longtime producer Youf, she crafts a fusion of reggaeton’s energy and UK club rhythms.
‘Lonestar’ serves as a deeply personal reflection on Ivohé’s experiences in Berlin, mirroring the city’s vibrant yet chaotic atmosphere. Through introspective lyrics and soulful vocals, she paints a vivid picture of urban isolation and the quest for inner peace amid the metropolitan hustle.
The album showcases Ivohé’s artistic evolution with rich production featuring lush pads, heavy bass, and rugged breaks. This energetic backdrop perfectly complements her smooth vocals, adding emotional depth to each track.
“Lonestar is a deeply conceptual album for me, dedicated with both pain and love to the cities that have given me a home: London and my hometown Berlin,’ Ivohé explains. ‘It’s impossible to hate anything without loving it, and I love both cities. I also deeply despise them. It’s an album about a complicated relationship with my surroundings. Cities reflect the whole spectrum of the human condition, and so Lonestar exists in the midst of all this chaos, going through the ups and downs the city has to offer.”
